It definitely seems interesting and I am looking forward to trying it out myself when it becomes available but I don't necessarily think it will be competition for google since they seem to do different things and most of the time when searching on Google I am not looking for just data. Also, it seems that a successful Wolfram Alpha search depends very much on the wording of the query which will take some time to get used to while most people have grown sued to searching in google-friendly terms
