Social Networking Not Working

This article talks about how small companies are investing money into advertising on and being a part of multiple social networking sites. The companies have a seen a wide array of results. Some companies have received no new customers from these social networking sites, but still feel that they need to be a part of these sites to remain competitive, while others have seen some positive results. All the companies feel that email advertising and word of mouth are the most important forms of advertising, and the phone book is probably the worst. They still feel that the jury is out on social networking sites like Linkedin, Twitter, and Facebook, but feel like it is their best option to remain connected to these sites while they are assessing the benefits.
