Social Networks of Slashdot Comments

This is a somewhat interesting paper about the social network of the people who post comments on slashdot.com. The networks are built by the connections of registered users that post comments and then the people who reply to those comments. One interesting phenomena that this paper explains is that the function describing the number of users in the network with a given number of neighbors follows a log normal distribution instead of the more common model in social networks, the power-law distribution. This may indicate that the social network of slashdot commentators follows a model closer to that of market prices, for example, than a normal social network.
