Digg.com is a social networking site where users can submit webpages to be "dugg" by other people. Once a site gets dugg enough times, it appears on the front page where millions of people see the site. Some obscure but interesting sites crash due to the traffic brought by Digg if it reaches the front page.

Since anyone can submit any site, I wonder how google ranks each page that is linked to by Digg. Since Digg is a popular site with many inward links, it has a lot of influence to pages that it links to. According to our discussion of the pagerank algorithm, This link should boost the linked page's rank. However, since the links are not placed by Digg, the link have the same weight as a link which was placed on the Digg site by its owners. Basically, I am wondering how Google is reacting to social networks where large, influential sites have very many outgoing links yet few outgoing links which should be given high value.
