J-CAST (JP) - Mixi Bans Their Users From Dating

mixi, japan's biggest social networking service (SNS), is discouraging and now officially banning their site to be used for dating as of 4/1/2009.

For those who do not know mixi, it's basically a very exclusive version of facebook since it is invitation-only, and you must have a registered (Japanese) cell phone # . Supposedly, it also tracks how many times you've visited someone's page.

I find it strange how Japan has a very low birth rate, and they're adding some ridiculous rules to not meet more people socially. It's quite not the same in America...
